Hi OBRA, I've been recieving many questions regarding
the stage race, so I made a pre-flyer form. This
is'nt the final form but a basic layout of the race.
Wanted to note that the race is an overall timed
event, not a day to day basis. As of now I'm trying
to get a lodging deal. Thanks and let me know if there
are any more questions. Tour of Willamette will be

HIGH DESERT STAGE RACE
May 4, 5 2002 BEND, OR
Stage #1: '98 Classic Armstrong 10 mile TT
Stage #2: Tumalo Classic 7 mile lap system
$1000* CASH PAYOUT w/ PRIZES and GIFT certificates
* 1st person to break Armstrong's "98 classic time of
21:12 gets $250.00!!! more payout based on
participation
DESCIPTION: STAGE #1, '98 old classic TT, out east of
Bend in prime high desert country. Bumpy, rolling,
weathered road. 10 miles length for all categorizes.
START TIMES: WOMEN: 9:00am
CAT 4/5: 9:30am
CAT 3: 10:00am
MASTERS 35+: 10:30am
PRO ?: 11:00am
STAGE #2, Tumalo classic 7 mile loop. Out Northwest
of Bend, this lap system race offers low traffic on a
rolling pavement road with 700ft elevation gain each
lap
START TIMES: LAPS/MILES:
CAT.3 8am 8/56miles
Masters 35+ 8:05am 8/56miles
Women 11am 6/42miles
CAT.4/5 11:05am 6/42miles
PRO ? 2pm 10/70miles
FEES: $15 registration fee for juniors. $35
pre-registration for all other OBRA cyclists, ends
4/30/02. $45 registration after 4/30/02. Day of
event OBRA licenses are available to non OBRA members.
USCF licenses are not required. Send

splits groups. ANSI approved helmets required.
DIRECTIONS: Stage #1, go Hwy 20 east out of Bend
heading towards Burns. After 10 miles look to turn
right onto old HWY, turn right before Horse Ridge,
look for sign regarding race. Stage #2, go north out
of Bend towards Sisters on Hwy 20, turn left on OB
Riley in Tumalo after gavel pit. Travel ? mile turn
right before bridge crossing and then immediate left
onto Johnson. Look for signs of race.
REGISTRATION: Opens 8am under the OBRA registration
banner until 15min. prior to start times
