Ronde crash, everyone OK?

Same thing happened to me last January. There was even a chatty 11 year old girl in the backseat who was not freaked at all but very curious and talkative while I examined my smashed bike, shoulder and rib. Dry, clear, sunny day and illegal left turn into my path. That's why I've started using a day time running light on my commutes. I don't care how annoying it is, I can tell it makes a difference.
Best wishes to John.

They stopped, which was pretty inevitable as he smashed his grill out. The 11 year old in the passenger seat seemed pretty freaked out, and rightly so. I did not meet the driver but was told he was there. Police were taking statements when I left, and as I did not witness it didn't take one from any of our group. Looked like a simple case of driver not seeing or underestimating the speed of a descending bike and turning left in front of him.
Best wishes to John, that was an ugly-looking break.

Hey all,

Just wanted to check on the rider who had a Toyota truck turn in front of him coming down towards College. He flew over and we helped stabilize everything till EMS showed up. I know he had a bad tib-fib fracture, but wanted to make sure everything else was OK since he also had some probable fractured ribs.

BTW, Paul Anderson (on HFV) who crashed into a car on the gravel coming down from Pittock is doing fine, has a couple fractured ribs but nothing else apparent and should be released from observation tomorrow.

Good time out there today, wish I could cure the sunny-day blues.
