Nathan,
while i'm really bummed at Twick being canceled for the 2nd year in a row, I totally understand. I probably would have spent most of it riding at my own pace anyways :)

I was on the fence about Cottonwood creek relay, because it was a great time in the calendar for such an event., but also right around the time I'd want to take a break.

Hopefully next year both races will take place.

best to all of you folks,
Q

Hello OBRA Peleton,

It is with regret and disappointment that I am forced to cancel the Twickenham Road Race and the Cottonwood Creek Adventure Race on May 2nd, and 3rd respectively. After working closely with ODOT on dates for the events and had been given numerous verbal approvals, I learned last week that there is a major road construction project from Service Creek towards Mitchell the week leading up to the event. I was told it would not be possible to have a race that weekend.

I searched for alternate routes and dates but as with most of eastern Oregon alternate routes are very scarce without running into long sections of dirt road and the OBRA calendar if very full indeed.

I apologize for not providing the event and potentially disrupting your racing plans. Fossil and surrounding area is a great place to ride. If your plans still allow a trip try: Fossil to Antelope out and back, Fossil to Spray and back, or bring your cross bike for mixed surface riding. If interested in routes drop me a note.

Sincerely,
Nathan Hobson
