I'm a former track newbie, who cut his teeth out at Alpenrose. Track
racing is without a doubt the most fun I've had on 2 wheels. I rode
the track class for quite a while, then started racing on the track,
and once I started I couldn't get enough. My last couple of years
before I moved out here to WV, I was teaching the class on Wednesday,
racing on the Thursday night races, then again on Friday night, and
any weekend race I could get entered for. For things like the AVC,
where I couldn't keep up, I showed up to help score events. The
people at the track are great, and riding those 43 degree banks is a
rush! Go out and talk to Steve Garcia and the folks on Wednesday
nights.
