Hello Everyone

I wanted to update you all on the 2002 VW Oregon MT. Bike Series.

Remember in 2002 all Beginners Cross Country racers pay ONLY $20 and NO LATE FEE AT ALL RACES...so bring some new people along this year.

There are 16 Cross Country, 8 Downhill and 5 non-competitive events in 2002.

The non-competitive events are a great way for you to ride with your friends and family that do not race and a good way for you to get in a nice warm up ride.

It is going to be a great 2002 series. We are bringing back The Mudslinger March 30 to kick off the series...it will be back at a location used 10 years ago, so be sure you get a flyer for directions. If your a downhiller your first race will be at Mt. Hood that same day for the Spring Break Shock Snow races( speed trap and biker cross)...should be some fun wild races up there.

I am going to bring back a Fat Tire Festival in Oakridge...it will be called the Cascade Fat Tire Festival July 13-14 and will feature fun tours of Saturday and XC kids races on Sunday, plus other fun events including huffy tosses, bunny hop and fastest flat change contest.

Shotgun Creek 2 July 27 (DH) and 28 (XC) will be the "Oregon State Championships"...not to be confused with the series finals( Mt Hood in Sept). These races are one day event's...you win your " The Oregon State Champion"

I know many of you are wondering where your plates are.   I wanted to let you know that it is NOT Candi or OBRA's fault. We had been waiting to hear from promoters on a lot of issues such as: if certain races were going to be put on, dates, contact info, ect... We did not want to list events unless we were sure they would happen or give you outdated contact info.

You should start getting your plates and series flyers next week.

Please contact me with any question that have to do with anything besides points, classes or plates...please contact a OBRA Mt. Bike rep about these questions.

Thanks for your understanding.

I'll look forward to seeing you all again this season and best of luck.
