Hey all,

OBRA
is still look'n for instructors to help run the Track Development
Class, so if your an experienced track racer and can commit to the
dates still available, please contact me.

Below and attached are the dates we still need help, and the number of instructors still needed. We really need help on July 22.

Here's the deal, the classes start April 29th and end on August 26th, and it's on every Wednesday except July 1st, which is during the Sixday event. The class starts at 6pm and lasts about 2-3 hours. By the way, we're very flexible. If you need to show up late and/or leave early, no problem.

We
also have a need for a volunteer to meet me at 5pm or 5:30pm to help
with setting-up for the class. This person can either leave at 6:15pm or stay and help instruct. Setting up simply requires getting the
riders signed in on the waiver/sign up sheet and getting rental bikes
pulled for those renting bikes. Then, you'll need to be able to
perform simple mechanical and fitting tasks. Be able to install and
change out pedals, raise and lower seat stems and handle bars, flip
rear wheels and adjust chain tension,
etc. Oh ya, and collect money. It would also help if you could tell
the student what to expect, like how to enter the track, use the apron
to warm up on, and don't get hit crossing the track, etc.

To
instruct on the track, you'll be expected to take direction and give
it, and lead groups of students through the steps to becoming track
riders/racers. We'll let you know what that is when the time comes.

Basically, what we need you to do is down-load what you know about safe track riding/racing and how to do it.

FYI,
this year the fees are, $10 for the class if you have your own bike,
but if you rent a bike it's $5 of the class and $5 for the rental
bike. The point being, everyone pays $10.
