I'm finally tired of clearing mud, cryptosporidium, horse poop, etc.
from my water bottle spout to get at the precious electrolytes
contained therein.

(No, no, no... I will NEVER put sports bev in my CamelBak. Gross.)

I remember a loooong time ago a company called ODI make a little
leashed cap that attached to the older narrow-opening water bottles
and covered up the spout, protecting it from ugh.

Does a similar product exist today?

I love Specialized water bottles, (I'm actually a water bottle snob)
but they don't seem to make any sort of bottle with a covered spout.

Does anyone know of a water bottle that has a covered spout or some
other protective gizmo?
