Summer racing thoughts...

Kenji has the data now. I do feel compelled, however, to point out that
track races get cancelled in the event of just rain, not to mention snow.
Maybe if we want to accommodate children and people that don't want to run
with their bikes then people could look at track racing. You don't even
need to own a bike since we will rent you one.

Many good points made today. Some not so good.

History has shown that summer racing really dwindles numbers wise. Many
factors (family stuff, vacations, wkly series in Portland area, burnout,
etc) but mtn and road promoters alike have been traditionally very
disappointed by summer numbers. Repeatedly, year in and year out. The
weather is the best then but...people have not significantly supported the
races.

Spring events (long rainy winters of riders chomping on the bit I suppose)
traditionally have the best turnouts.

These things can change, but the trends have been consistent.
