Disco Velo, out of Discover Bicycles in Hood River has stepped up to fill

the vacancy to host the 2002 Oregon State Road Race Championships scheduled

for July 28 and August 4th. Jeff Lorenzon, Shane Wilson and Chad Sperry

have come up with a new and yet untried loop of road just out of Parkdale,

Oregon just off of Hwy 35. In order to dedicate the time necessary to

conduct a good event they will give up on the already schedule Hood River

Criterium set for 7/21 to concentrate on these two days of road races.



Many thanks to the Jack Rabbit Velo (Damian Schmitt), Tony Kic (Gentle

Lovers) Jon Puskas (NW Velo) and Scott Powell (Team Oregon) for their

attempt so come up with other workable solutions. The reason why racing

works in Oregon is the involvement of all of you.
