Mt. Hood Cycling Classic CAT 3/4 Women's race decision 3 days or 4.........

Mt. Hood Cycling Classic

2009-05-04

Dear CAT 3-4 Women Racers,

So I put out the opportunity for you to vote on what works best for you the CAT 3/4 woman racer for racing at the 2009 Mt. Hood Cycling Classic. As a promoter I work incredibly hard to provide customer service to all who come and do our my events. I want to make sure that I show you the respect you deserve for taking your time and money to patronage our races. However I must say that you CAT 3/4 women are the toughest and most difficult bunch to please. I spend more time working for you than any other Category and yet receive less positive feedback. Remember if you want lots of events you must come out and support them to make them happen!

So now my frustration. Here is the breakdown on the vote on whether to have a 3 day race or a 4 day race.

Option #1
4 Day race starting Thursday afternoon
5 votes

Option #2
3 Day race starting Friday afternoon
5 votes

Could not make up there mind

The really frustrating part is a number of you have stated to me in your email response that if you did not get the option you voted for that you would not do the race. So here I am as a promoter left to wonder what to do. It is a dead tie based off of limited voting turn out and the way I see it right now unless a ton of women come in from California or Idaho who did not receive the cast your vote email then we are looking at a race of about 6 women. So here is what I am going to do. I am going to extend the voting to Wednesday at 5 p.m. when I will do a final count and post a decision that night. What I want you to do is send this email out to all of your friends, teamates, and anyone else who wants to participate in a tremendous race and tell them to vote! If it is still a tie by 5 p.m. on Wednesday then I will make the final decision and just take the beating for it. Come on ladies this is for you so let me hear from you. If the Mt. Hood Cycling Classic is a race that is not suited to this group of racers I can completely respect that, but the response I have received in the past is that it is an event you want.

Let me know I am listening.

Please do NOT vote again if you have already sent in your vote.

Sincerely,
Chad
