Mt. Hood Cycling Classic
It was just brought to my attention by a keen eye that I goofed on the masters information. You will be starting Thursday afternoon June 4th NOT Friday as I listed Race starts at 2 p.m. with packet pickup from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the 4th. My apologies for the grave error. You do not get the option to race shorter ;)
Sincerely,
Chad

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Urgent Update for Mt. Hood Cycling Classic!!!
Mt. Hood Cycling Classic Updates 5/7/09
CAT 3/4 Women Reduced to 3 Days
CAT 3/4 Women you have spoken. After receiving 21 votes on whether to run a 3 day or 4 day race the answer is in. It will be a 3 day 3 stage event for all CAT 3/4 women. Hopefully those who emailed me that they would not attend unless it was a 4 day format will reconsider and support our efforts to truly support and elevate the sport of cycling for women. Besides if you are a CAT 3 you have the option of racing 5 days!!! We have dropped the registration price to $80. Anyone who has already registered will be refunded the difference. Your race will start Friday afternoon with the most amazing TT you will ever ride at approximately 1:00 p.m. Packet pickup for the CAT 3/4 women will be open from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Friday June 5th at the Discovery Center in The Dalles.
Masters Men Start Time Moves to Thursday Afternoon
Masters Men 35+/45+ your start time will now move to Friday afternoon at 2:00 p.m. Packet pickup will move to 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday June 4th. You may also pick up packets Wednesday afternoon from 4-6:00 p.m. at Best Western Hood River Inn.
CAT 3 and CAT 4 Men
Registration is beginning to substantially pick up. For the past 4 years your category has filled to capacity and we have had to turn riders away. Do not wait until the last second to register this year if you are serious about racing.
Everyone
Make sure you book your lodging now. Last year Hood River was completely booked and a number of riders ended up having to find lodging in The Dalles. Great community but it does add 20 minutes on to your commute. Make reservations now to insure you find a room. For the stage 2 time trial we will have a shuttle available to take riders back to the start line once they are finished for those who are unable to find transportation. We will also have a shuttle available for hte CAT 3/4 women from Mt. Hood Meadows to Billy Bob Snow Park for stage 3 road race.
We have an incredible event lined up this year and are excited to see all of you out racing for our 7th addition. As an added incentive for registering early anyone who registers by tomorrow May 8th will receive a commorative poster, pint glass, and shirt free.
Sincerely,
Chad
