Try the Michelin Dry 2's. They don't make them as narrow as you are asking
,but short track is quite bumpy. I rode my CX bike for every race last
year. At times it felt like riding down stairs. I don't think you need
narrow tires, but you definitly don't need much tread.

I'd like to press my luck a little and find out what tires people like for riding in dirt. Right now I'm commuting on a so-called "cross" tire that's admittedly cheap and rather horrid. I'd like something 1.5 to 1.95 with some grab in the dirt (for short-track XC, for example) on my singlespeed atb. Thanks again --Beth
