Kenji - I think this is an excellent idea and not only for the CAT 4 women
but for all beginning racers. Some riders are fortunate to practice with
experienced riders however some are not.The Poplollies have been hosting
criterium clinics each summer as well as leading weekly beginner rides but
not all woman can make these events. I love that there are woman
volunteering to mentor racers at the Crits and at PIR and understand it may
be difficult to have a mentor ride an entire road race with the 4s. Perhaps
OBRA can use one of the Cat 4 Norman Babcock Series races to run a 15-20
minute "racing workshop" before the race? If this is too time consuming
perhaps OBRA can suggest additional racing resources with links from the
home page. A written "What not to do" and "What to do" posted on the obra
home page might make a great resource.
OBRA runs official/ traning each year, perhaps there is $ in the budget to
offer a couple racing clinics for beginners?
Thanks again Kenji for your solicitation of comments and your desire to
improve women's riding/racing.
