Bikes Needed for Juniors Cycling Program

Do you have a decent road bike that you are not using and would be willing to loan to a juniors cycling program for at-risk youth? Members of Umpqua Velo Club in Roseburg have organized a spring-quarter program with Roseburg High School to introduce students at risk of dropping out of school to the benefits of cycling. Most of these kids do not have bicycles. We are gathering bikes for them to use in the program. We can make minor repairs to the bikes and supply new tires, cables, etc. The bikes will only be used on supervised rides, will be securely stored between sessions, and will be returned in the same or better condition than they were received. We are still in need of bikes with the following frame sizes: 3 bikes with frames between 49 and 51 cm, 1 bike with a frame between 52 and 54 cm, and 1 bike with a frame between 58 and 60 cm. If you have a bike you are willing to loan or donate please respond ASAP to Paul Tamm at pta-@internetcds.com . The following bike shops have agreed to be drop off locations for loaned bikes. Umpqua Velo will collect the bikes from them.
