Sad news is that Steve collapsed and died last night during a run workout. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends.

I met him a few times on training rides in the Foothills east of Sacramento. A great guy always willing and wanting to help anybody. He was with the group we were riding with and there was a kid we passed with a flat tire on his BMX bike. Steve stopped and was able to patch it for him and walked with him to the gas station just up the road and helped him pump it up (first time I had ever seen a tire repair done withouth the wheel coming off the bike). Always with a smile and never a bad thing to say. RIP Steve.
