Report it even if it seems to be poo-pooed!
I found in working with police and fire that they do want these things
reported. What happened to you may seem isolated, but in fact could be just
one event in a series. A good example of that is fires or tagging. People
reporting fires/tagging they find can enable investigators to put together a
case for a serial arsonist/gang activity. A similar event may have taken
place just days prior or a few blocks away.
