2009-06-09

Hello,

Working on the finishing touches to the course and after 100's of hours of
work we are almost ready for the 5th annual Test of Endurance 50.

The course....outstanding! some new dips and drops..well marked.....great
support for everyone to finish
LOts of fun and you will pace and push yourselves to new limits

Some points to remember

Bring gear....you never know what to expect....so its better to bring a
little extra and not need it

2 huge aide stations with lots of food. The Aide station to do a gear drop
in my opinion would be aide #2 at Panama Canal...half way through. This
could be a small cooler..well labeled or some special food, bottles,
ect...we will take care of it as long as it is in the gym the morning of the
race.

We will be having some pre-filled bottles and jam and peanut butter and
other tasty food on the course and after.

Once again we will be having the massage therapists from Century Sports
massage at the race and 5 minutes are included with your entry. Last year
only 25% of you used this and please do so after you get cleaned up.....for
you fast guys and gals it can make the time go by until awards.

9am sharp for the mass start.....
register by mail soon or online
You can still register and or pick up your packet in the gym the night
before from 5-7pm at the blodgett gym

Yes camping is available.....behind the Blodgett Cafe. The cafe is now
closed, but you can camp there.*Please rsvp *
Services for the most part are in Philomath and Hotels are in Corvallis.

If you want a custom race plate with your name and team name.....I will be
issuing them based on all entries received by Sunday night......they go to
the printer Monday am.

Here are the top 100 riders and times from 2008.......you will be issued
this number if you enter...so defend your spot and or bust into the top 100
after this years TOE 50.

Overall cash purse is 1000.00 as of right now between men and
women.....could be 2000.00 as registration is ahead of 2008. The team cash
purse is 500.00 for both the open division and the master division, for
first place. remember the course record of 16:02 set by S & M in 2006 is up
for grabs and the team who beats the record and is the fastest will receive
a 1000.00 bonus Team Cash purse..thats 1500.00.....you split it up how you
want among your team. Last year S & M missed the course record by 3
minutes......who will win this year

Hello,

The TOE 50 is right around the corner and I have updated the map and video
at http://www.mudslingerevents.com/test-of-endurance-50/

*The skinny*

50 miles, 8000 ft.....check out the map

A great way to test your mid season fitness or accomplish something new.
Maybe you are trying to beat your 2008 time...most do.

*The course*

Big...YES.....Fun...Yes.....with proper pacing you can do it....
Times were from 3:45 up until 8 hrs

Lots of prizes, burrito, massage for all who enter, great big buffet style
aide stations

A 25 mile ride option is also available for those less inclined to race it
and 15.00 of each entry will go to IMBA
2 person 1 lap option also available with special prizes for the winners of
those divisions

You will be given your custom plate with name and team name based on 2008's
overall finish....so if you were 40th overall...then you will have plate #
40 (defend your plate #) if entered by June 14th.

*Prize money*

Team....500.00 first place open team and Masters 35+ team of 4 riders( you
can have 5 on a team...see team rules)
I could see Hutches, Bicycleattorney, veloce, Team Dirt, and S & M having
Master team potential and for the Open...lots of teams of 5 could be
comprised and you save money entering as a team.

$ 1000.00 Team bonus to the team who has 4 of 5 racers break the 2006 Team
record held by Team S & M of 16:02...(last year they missed it by 3 minutes)
and win the Team Event.

$1000.00-2000.00 in cash for the overall for Men and women. I do feel that
it will be 2000.00 by the increased turnout. SO get a fast team (all must
have the same jersey) and win some money on your own as well.

More updates to come

IF this race is not enough....you can also do the 50K or 25 K run the day
before....that will loosen up the legs

Thanks
Mike
