Mike,

Last year the City of Portland held it's first Sunday Parkways event. Over
15, 000 bicyclists and walkers attended this event and wanted more. So this
year we are doing three Sunday Parkway events.

All three events will close a 6 to 7.5 mile route of residential streets to
all motorized vehicles from 9am to 4pm. It takes about 400 volunteers to do
this event and we only have 90 signed up so far.

Volunteers only work a 2.5 hour shift so they have plenty of time to ride
the route a few times and take in the live music, food vendors, yoga
classes...etc.

Interested folks can go to PortlandSundayParkways.org and find out more
about it. They can watch videos of last years event and see film of the big
one, the Ciclovia in Bogota Columbia at that web site too...

If you can help us get this message out, we would be grateful.
