NWTandemRacing.com has three awesome tandem races for June - Mountain, Neighborhood Crit, & Circuit Race!

All three of these races are offering tandem classes for the first time in 2009! Please show these race organizers that tandems appreciate their efforts and come race your butts off! For those of you wanting to come race in Central Oregon send me an email and I'll see if the futon at my house has a vacancy. Amy and I will be at all 3 of these races! Hope to see you there...

MTB: PICKETT'S CHARGE, June 7 - Bend, OR
This annual mountain bike race is put on by Sunnyside Sports in Bend, Oregon. Held on the very popular westside trails and starting and finishing at Phil's Trailhead. A more technical (rocky and tight) course than the Chainbreaker (see May 10) - this is classic, Central Oregon racing. The tandems will get their own class for 2009! The weather this week has been very rainy, which means this usually dusty course is going to be fun and fast! The sun is coming out this weekend so we hope to have some of the best conditions in years.

ROAD: LIFESOURCE SALEM FAIRVIEW CIRCUIT RACE, Jun 28 - Salem, OR
It's official! Tandems will be racing at Salem Fairview in 2009! The course is a 1.9 mile loop features a looong, totally flat, sweeping straightaway at the start/finish, four actual corners, a gradual climb, and a fun, curving descent (see above photo). A safe circuit that is technical enough to keep it interesting, and guaranteed fun for the tandems. A perfect cross between a mini-road race and a criterium.

RULE CHANGE REGARDING YOUTH STOKERS:

For those of you racing in Oregon at OBRA events, stokers now have to be age ten years and older - effective immediately. This applies to all tandem races including mountain bike races.

Thanks!
