WEBCYCLERY MOVIE NIGHT @ McMENAMINS
Presents VEER
McMenamins Old St. Francis School Movie Theater
Bend, Oregon
9:00 p.m. | $5 per person | 21 & over

Be warned - if you come to this film, you're going to see more than one naked person on a bicycle.

Love it or hate it - you can't deny that Portland bike culture (and counterculture) is way, way crazier than anything we think is outlandish about cycling here in Central Oregon. And the level of community commitment to getting kids and adults on bikes is unlike anything you've ever seen.

WebCyclery, Bicycle Transportation Alliance, and Share The Road bring you the Bend, Oregon premiere of Veer! Veer is an award-winning, inside look at Portland bike culture that follows the lives of 5 different people who are totally invested in their role in a booming social movement of bikes, bikes, bikes!
At the anarchic and festive end of the spectrum, bike punks joust on tall bikes and unicycles during Pedalpalooza. At more civilized moments in the film, the Community Cycling Centre teaches young kids the safest way to ride: single file in traffic, no passing, always wear your helmet. This film covers the aspects of cycling that I'm certain not all of us have seen. Or even imagined. From ZooBombing and GhostBikes to the Sprockettes and a glimpse of what it's like lobbying for cyclists rights in Salem - Veer shares it all.

Which is exactly why Veer is our June pick of the month for WebCyclery Movie Night at McMenamins!

Kevin Gorman, a film critic known for his thumbs-up and thumbs-down reviews with his brother and fellow critic, Mean Todd, has praised Veer and heralded it as "The sweetest Portland, crazy bike culture movie ever!" Mean Todd continued the accolades and added, "As long as you're going to be at McMenamins drinking a beer, you might was well be watching Veer at the same time."

While WebCyclery Movie Night at McMenamins is a monthly fund raiser for Central Oregon Trail Alliance (cotamtb.com), it is mostly an excuse to get together with a theater full of like-minded cyclists to watch kick-ass bicycle movies, drink a beer, raise some money for local trails, and maybe win a cool door prize from our friends at CascadeCouriers.com.
