Hello Oregon cyclists,
Check out Northwest Race Report.com ( http://nwracereport.com/index.html ).
We've been up for three weeks and already have more than 171,000 hits this
month.
This week we have a feature on Russell Stevenson. Word on the street has
Stevenson signing a pro contract with Prime Alliance, but no confirmation on
that at this point. NWRR will be the first to know (after Stevenson, of
course) and then you'll know. The feature relates to how he got started in
the sport, his training philosophy and other interesting stuff.
Also, there's coverage on the final Washington tune-up series, Mason Lake.
Next week we're featuring the Snohomish Road Race, which routinely draws the
top talent from the Northwest and Canada. Last year Super Squadra homeboy
Ian Tubbs won the race. This year former national crit champion Kenny
Williams wants victory there, despite Broadmark's early-season dominance.
Tuesday we'll have a column by former national team member Rich McClung. If
you haven't read is material, I urge you to take a look. McClung weaves a
pretty good yarn. Check out his column about racing in South America with a
young, bone-headed Bobby Julich. Great stuff.
On Thursday we'll have columns from our host of regulars, which includes top
coaches and athletes ? amazingly, they're all good writers. We've really
lucked out up here when it comes to finding columnists.
Which reminds me, we're looking for someone with writing skills to pull
together a column relating to the Oregon racing scene while we're not
covering races down in your neck of the woods (we will be down there when
the Oregon season heats up during the summer).
Also, Thursday we have slated a Q&A with Oregon champion David Auker. This
guy has too many state championship and Northwest race wins to count, and at
52, he's seen the Northwest circuit undergo some pretty profound changes.
