Falls City STXC

Thanks Evan, Brett, and rest of Capital Subaru Team for the fun course,
great swag, and awesome post race meal! I was expecting a dry course (not
sure why), and to my surprise, it must have rained in Oregon. That loop was
fast with a few twists, and the added moisture just made it better. I had
some traction issues with my front tire during warm up (Stan's The Raven),
but then Strasser showed up and let me borrow one of his 29er wheels
(Michelin XC) for the race -- what a guy! After the race, I was rewarded
with a killer turkey wrap and some tasty baked beans, very nice.

That's a great venue for STXC. I hope we see it again on the calendar.

Thanks for all of the great replies! We are very fortunate to have a
community that is 100% behind cycling, whether it's freeride/dh or xc/stxc.
Hopefully next year we'll be able to use the road that connects that venue
to Black Rock so we can have an XC and STXC race. Thanks to everyone who
came out and next year we'll make sure to ask the weather gods for some
sunshine!

This was a very good short track course and the park is not just convenient in many ways, but beautiful. We were racing around amongst huge beautiful trees. They set up a course that was tough for me (I rode my SS) in that there were no places to recover. I hope they use the same location for SS racing next year... or later this year? Thanks for all the work putting this on, including the swag and great food. Some of the best potato salad this boy has ever eaten. The real deal, not store bought! Glad hand to sponsors as well. It would have been great to have more racers for sure, but a big "way to go" to Pistis with a good turnout.
