Obviously not the right choice.

It's my belief (from seeing the video) that the perp (or an accomplice) came buy and cut the lock first, then came back for the bike later.

On a side note...though there are three parking lot attendants, one security guard and 4 maintenance people milling about the building (bike was stolen @ 12:20 pm) the dude was able to make a clean get away. Yet a few days ago I brought my buddies "Litespeed loaner" up to my office and had a near S.W.A.T. team response to my building violation of having my bike in my office.

Now only if the crack team of personnel was as f'ing responsive as some CREEP was jacking my bike!
