TOE - Thanks Mike Ripley

Mike always puts on a great event. This was a test of endurance for
me. 6 hours in the saddle is a lot. Thanks to Mike for making sure
mountain biking is still hard, but with food and fast results.

TOE (thanks to Mike, his family, sponsors and great volunteers) is a true adventure. After some recovery one knows he/she has completed a very tough ride. I had a very hard time out there yesterday (because of some sickness earlier in week), making this my toughest TOE yet. But afterward I told Mike even though the second lap was a "sufferfest" for me, I became energized as I ripped down Panama Canal. Mudslinger Events knows how to do it right and our Oregon Mountain Bike Series has so many great races. I did not say easy races, but great races. I have yet to do a race that was easy. Was TOE easy for anyone out there?
One plug here. Even though I am not going to make the Jedi race, I hope they get a great turnout. That race is held in one of the most beautiful areas in the state. The trails are very nice. Two great climbs, WAY FUN descents, creek crossings, rocks, roots, swoops, old growth trees, great camping, food to die for. Worth the carpool. It is just beautiful.

I just want to give a shout out to Mike Ripley for a superbly organized race yesterday. He's definitely got the whole thing dialed.

Although the course covered much of the same ground as previous years somehow it was a lot better. There weren't any endless sections of road and the new trail cuts made for some good technical descents.

Great Job!
