Amen Mike,
It's a good rule to follow anywhere. Chances are small but possible that the person you've flipped off one day
may be the dental surgeon who will be putting your teeth right after a bad crash on another day.
'Be nice or be dog food' - from the movie Rock and Rule.

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Alpenrose Velodrome 2.0
A second issue that has come up (distinct from the fast driving issue) is
that evidently someone riding a bike in the parking lot at Alpenrose
recently made a rude hand gesture in the general direction of one of the
owners. Of course it is entirely possible and likely that this person was
not a racer and even if they were a racer the may not see this note but none
the less it does not take a rocket scientist to see that this was distinctly
un-cool. In fact, I don't think that flipping people off while you are
riding really ever does any good beyond giving the more primitive parts of
your brain a small pleasure stimulation. Unfortunately most people see all
people on bikes as members of a distinct and separate group and the actions
of one reflect on the many. This is not correct but it is unavoidable.
Bottom line, when at Alpenrose please do not flip anyone off. Similarly,
avoid rude or uncouth language or behavior. The owners are there frequently
and they are not easily identifiable.
Mike Murray
