Kenji, could you please post this to the OBRA group? Even if the folks
aren’t USAC-licensed officials they may audit the course for the $25
fee. Non-USAC licensed officials would not be required to take the test,
and they would not receive a USAC motor officiating license. It should
help those in Oregon who want to officiate from a motorcycle.

Thanks,

Dot & Tod

July 26th // Seeking Students!

All,

USA Cycling is offering a Motorcycle Referee Regional C course to be
held next month in Bend, Oregon at the same time as the Cascade Cycling
Classic and just before the Elite National Championships. The only
prerequisite for the course is that you are a licensed official, and if
you want the Regional C category designation on your license then you
must have a motorcycle endorsement on your license otherwise you can
receive the “P” (pillion) endorsement. The class is conducted in the
classroom so you don’t have to bring your motorcycle to Bend to attend
the course.

We really want to get as many people as possible to attend that are
interested in either becoming a “moto ref” or learning about the moto
ref position. If you don’t ride a motorcycle and aren’t planning on
doing so, then taking this class will help you learn what the moto refs
are trained to do so that you can better manage and utilize them as a
referee or as a commissaire. The last time we had a class here in the
NW was in 2006, so jump on this chance while you can!

Here are the details:

· *Course*: Motorcycle Referee Regional C

· *Instructor*: Ed Dailey

· *Location*: Bend, Oregon (Exact location in Bend is TBD)

· *Date*: Saturday 26 July 2009

· *Time*: 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with one hour for lunch

· *Cost*: $25

· *Other*: This will be an 8 hour class with a written test at
the end. The course takes place the same time as the Cascade Cycling
Classic and so students are welcome to come early to enjoy the event.
Students do not have to bring a motorcycle to the course. If you do not
have a motorcycle license, and you pass the course, you will receive a
“P” (pillion) designation on your license.

· *For more information*: Contact Tod Manning at
todmanning@msn.com or Dot Abbott at

· *Registration: *Send e-mail to todmanning@msn.com
stating that you plan on attending the
course and further information will be sent to you.

Cheers,
- Tod
