Thanks for posting that. I know the area where he is riding right now. Not sure exactly what is going on there. His speed seems slow for that terrain. He should be on a combination of gravel and sketchy two track in there from my knowledge. Not lots of steep stuff, but if one is fighting wind (very possible), thunderstorms (very-very possible), fatigue (probably a given), or degraded surface conditions from rain or flash flooding etc.; that could be a good reason for not traveling very fast. I rode this section in 2000 and the wind was just brutal. The sandy surfaces were very tough in places as well. But wow! It was beautiful. He is just East of where the Lewis and Clark Expedition (heading West) crossed over the continental divide (Lolo pass) into present day Idaho. He will be back in Bear country in a day or two, depending on speed. Hope is doing well. Go Tommy!
