Jesus Ilundain
Greetings masters of spin,
A few of you may know of me, most will not—I have been a bit too busy to race much this year. Here’s the skinny, I am co-editing a book on cycling and philosophy for Wiley-Blackwell scheduled to be out next year. We have 19 contributors/chapters. Lennard Zinn will be writing the preface (which is pretty cool!).
My own chapter involves a section where I wish to reflect what actual cyclists think as part of a wider narrative, and I am thus seeking feedback from all kinds of riders (pro racers, top amateurs and not so "top," and recreational cyclists, even those with training wheels.
If you would like to contribute to the wider discussion of cycling, send me an email at jilunda@linfield.edu I will send you a PDF and word files with the interview.
The interview reflects the structure of the book and its core themes, and can be answered in many different ways. It has six "thematic" issues that you can spend as long or as little as you wish and mix and match ... It could go from just a few lines to something more involved. It may give you the opportunity to engage cycling in a different way, and you may learn something about yourself as well.
I will be very appreciative for any feedback. Some may see their name in press, (always in a nice manner of course!) should your answers be insightful enough. Eventually I would like to post a compilation or all answers on my website (for those granting permission).
Directions are in the questionnaire with regard to deadlines and such.
Thanks for reading, and happy riding,
Jesús
