knee aggravations

 and I'm not talking

about just saddle height, fore aft, stem length stuff here

(that's only 40-50% of it...) .... there is much more involved.

Like what? Saddle and handlebar location seem to be the main thing

one can adjust on a normal bicycle. Are you talking cleat placement?

Crank length? I can't think of anything else. Do share.

Hi there... the advice offered below might be fine, and for most

cases, it's correct. However, to ignore the symptoms Craig is having

without getting it checked out by a sports med specialist (your

choice alliopathic or naturopathic or chiropractic) is irresponsible.

Furthermore, to rely on advice offered in an unsigned (anonymous)

post is stupid, even if the supporting information is generally

correct

A couple of years ago I had similar problems that you are describing

and I started taking these sulfates and everything cleared up. I

stopped, and the next season the same thing happened, took the

sulfates, things cleared up. Now I just take them regularly along

with my multivitamins. I have seen reference to these sulfates in a

couple of cycling books and they both agree Clucosamine Condroitin

helps cyclist with joint distress (Serious Cycling, by Edmund R.

given 1500 mg of Glucosamine sulfate daily for 40 days, and then 750

mg for about 90 to 100 days. Of the 68 athletes, 52 enjoyed complete

disappearance of their symptoms and resumed full athletic training.

Follow up 12 month later showed no signs of cartilage damage in any

of the athletes") !

Good luck !

i'm having some knee troubles and i'm wondering if anyone can shed

some light. i feel like it was caused by simply overdoing it

training wise these last few weeks and this is my body's way of

saying stop. although i've been pretty consistent w/ rest and

mileage i did start doing two sessions on wednesdays, morning and

evening, at higher intensities. then on thursday of last week did

an 80 mile ride at conversational pace/low gears and afterwards

sitting at a booth in a restaurant my knee started to act up. been

resting since then and went for a ride today and it felt like a saw

coming throught the front of the kneecap. any thoughts or

suggestions on recovery would be appreciated. feel free to email me

I recommend that you go see someone that will fit you on your bike correctly. Why treat the symptoms when you can fix the problem! It all starts with your fit .... and I'm not talking about just saddle height, fore aft, stem length stuff here (that's only 40-50% of it...) .... there is much more involved. stop.  although i've been pretty consistent w/ rest and mileage i did start

doing two sessions on wednesdays, morning and evening, at higher

intensities.  then on thursday of last week did an 80 mile ride at

conversational pace/low gears and afterwards sitting at a booth in a restaurant

my knee started to act up.  been resting since then and went for a ride

today and it felt like a saw coming throught the front of the kneecap.  any

thoughts or suggestions on recovery would be appreciated.  feel free to

email me directly at <A
