Thanks to the 60 people who came from all over the Northwest and Canada to
race the 1st 8 Hrs of Independence. Chris Brandt (Team Dirt) won the overall
overcoming a 10 minute deficit to take the title over Sloane Anderson
(PureEnergy-ProAir/HF) with 12 laps.....thats nearly 14,000 ft of climbing
with Andy Traslin (Pennywise) in third 11 laps and hes Brother Mike Traslin
in 4th. The 2 person coed division is where I see the biggest growth for
2010 with riders trading laps. Great Job Pat and Ellen (Pacific
Peddling.com) on winning the Coed division. The BBQ was great and we had
very minor scrapes and bruises and the heat was a factor, but riders battled
through. During the race riders were treated to alot of shad on the course
with one section dubbed " Arizona"...you can ask someone about that section.
