Renee Mansour
Hello,
With only 15 days to go before the start of the Cascade Cycling Classic and 21 days for Nationals you would have to imagine I am getting a little stressed. There are still many spots that need to be covered so that this can be a safe course for the racers. With the Tour de France starting yesterday I am getting so excited about having these races here in Bend. We will have some top notch athletes competing for titles.
Some of the volunteer positions that are open are listed below:
1. Handing out water bottles in the feed zone
2. Picking up the water bottles at MBSEF and taking them to the feed zones
3. Driving the sweep vehicle
4. Marshaling corners
5. Set up the finish/tear down the finish
6. Com drivers(Nationals)
Some of the shifts are a 1/2 hour to 3 hours in length. A majority of the volunteers from years past have commented time and again how much they truly enjoyed being out on the course and part of such phenomenal race. Volunteering can be so rewarding not only to the racers but to you as well. I ask that you please look at your calendars and see if you can spare some time either for the CCC which is July 21-27th or for Nationals which is July 28th-Aug 2nd. For each event you will receive a t-shirt and an appreciation BBQ. For the CCC you will also be receiving a water bottle, with the CCC logo and all the sponsors on it. Remember to go to the website and then email me with what positions you would like to cover.
