Engineer, Large Commercial Buildings department:
We are looking for candidates with experience in HVAC systems and control
applications to help promote the adoption of energy efficiency strategies in
buildings throughout the United States. Specific job responsibilities may
include performing technical research, identifying new efficiency
opportunities, calculating energy savings potential of strategies, writing technical
reports, conducting field testing of systems and supporting other research
efforts into energy efficiency for new and existing buildings.
Key Responsibilities:
* A high level of interest in improving energy efficiency in
buildings
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Learning agility; continuously seeking new knowledge
* Proficiency with spreadsheets
* Strong technical writing, including writing reports, papers,
specifications and guides
* Develop, understand and meet project objectives, scope, budget and
schedule
* Team orientation
* Proactive communication skills working with colleagues and clients
* Well-developed presentation and written communication skills
A minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Energy efficiency consulting
* Energy codes and standards
* Energy savings calculations and data analysis methodologies
* HVAC mechanical and/or controls design and installation
* HVAC operations and maintenance, including troubleshooting
problems, including large built-up systems and packaged rooftop units
Senior Engineer/Engineering Manager, Large Commercial Buildings department:
Specific job responsibilities may include managing engineering staff and
subcontractors, leading technical review efforts, providing technical guidance
for development and implementation of energy efficiency programs, managing
and contributing to technical research, fostering client relationships,
presenting technical topics to internal and external audiences, promoting the
professional development of engineers, representing new construction issues to
senior management for strategic planning purposes, and business
development.
Key Responsibilities:
* A high level of interest in improving energy efficiency in new
commercial buildings through incentive programs and policy changes
* Strong staff leadership and project management skills
* Strong analytical and problem solving skills
* Learning agility; continuously seeking new knowledge
* Strong technical writing skills, including writing higher-level
strategic assessments, policy documents and technical guidelines
* Proactive communication skills working with contractors, colleagues
and clients
* Well-developed presentation and written communication skills
Requirements:
* A minimum of seven years of experience
* Engineering and project management experience in the commercial new
construction industry
* Deep understanding of energy codes and standards
* Professional engineering (P.E.) license preferred
* Additional experience in one or more of the following areas:
* Building commissioning for new and/or existing buildings
* Utility energy efficiency program implementation, including measure
development
* Measurement and verification of energy savings
* Whole-building energy modeling using DOE 2.2, 2.2R, or other
simulation tools
* HVAC mechanical and/or controls design and installation
* HVAC operations and maintenance
Demand Response and Performance Monitoring Engineer
with deep experience in implementing demand response and performance
monitoring strategies for commercial and/or residential buildings.
EM&V Engineer
with deep experience in evaluation, monitoring and verification of energy
savings in commercial and residential buildings.
