In defense of every bike promoter in Oregon, I appreciate the promoter who does things just a little different. I am glad that we have races that have different cruxes to the race. Ashland has it's 6 mile climb and 20 minute decent. Ski Bowl has been described as a "Real Mountain Bike" course. Reehers has the nastiest downhill. Coast Hills has the unclimbable climb. Big K has the Black Forrest at the end of the lap. All of the races offer something different. I like that different races have different lengths. The long races require endurance. Short ones need a strong start. This means that it is not just the great climber or the best descender who is going to do well in the series...it will take a great mountain biker.
