I woke up a week ago and discovered that Microsoft loaded my PC with Internet Explorer. Without my request, knowledge, or permission. There is no magic uninstall button. The instructions on the MS website state that the Service Pack III has to be removed before removing IE 8. ( Note: All the jokes about MS using their customers as Alpha testers are true.)
The question is: Does anyone out there have first hand knowledge of how to get this pig off my computer. (And I don't want to hear how groovy Mozilla's Firefox is. I have it on my computer now and it's slower than IE 8. A scary thought, but there it is.)
So, can I load IE 7.3 over IE 8.0? That would be nice, but far too simple for MS. If you've been here, let me know what you did and if it worked.
Thanks.
