I use WD40 to remove glue residue from all sorts of things, including bicycle frames, parts and clear plastic.

I am convinced that the adhesive used on those water resistant paper race numbers that you wrap around your frame or seat post is some kind of super-gel glue that NASA invented to secure heat resistant tiles to the space shuttle. Soap and water? No. Nail polish remover? No.
Rolling it into a ball like the rubber cement in grade school that you flicked into the hair of the kid in front of you? No.

Has anyone had success in removing this substance from a carbon frame or do you just let it accumulate until the bike gets too heavy and then stick the frame to your wall with it as art?

I am convinced that the adhesive used on those water resistant paper
race numbers that you wrap around your frame or seat post is some kind
of super-gel glue that NASA invented to secure heat resistant tiles to
the space shuttle. Soap and water? No. Nail polish remover? No.
Rolling it into a ball like the rubber cement in grade school that you
flicked into the hair of the kid in front of you? No.

Has anyone had success in removing this substance from a carbon frame
or do you just let it accumulate until the bike gets too heavy and
then stick the frame to your wall with it as art?
