Well, I disagree, because I did not open registration to them except for the narrow category of racing for a time and no more. I made it clear that registration for them is for that non medal category only and not for any other category. It is not a State Championship category any more than the tandems are, although tandems are racing. They will not be listed by their racing category. Only their name and number will be listed and their number is only for the purpose of timing them. Their resutls will not be sent to OBRA for inclusion in their results. That means no BAR as well. I made it clear that this is their only accommodation, otherwise they stay home.
Otherwise it is not fair to the others as weather conditions change. I believe that the rules should also require that you go off when your other competitors do in order to even the playing field. Othersie there is a possible advantage. I lost a TT that Jerri did because she let Manning go at the end after it stopped raining and the sun came out, the temperature rose 20 degrees and the wind stopped. It was not fair, but it being Estacada I did not care much. It cannot be the case for a Championship.
The late registrants know the ground rules.

all
It is a state championship. If you allow people to register then they are eligible for medals and their results count toward BAR. You have already opened the door on Day of Race registration, so you cannot close that now
An individual race does not get to make these rules, they are the organization's policy.
AND. I am not in charge, it is up to Kenji, I am just his humble assistant.

Probably not unless Candi says otherwise as you will not be racing in your category. It really is up to Candi as I do not get involved in the BAR

Thanks,
Will the results count for the BAR?
Cheers,
Evan

OK, apparently, we have a large number of people that seemed unable to register within or narrow two month window. It reminds me of a saying a procrating friend had: "so much to do, so much time to do it" I think we gave you too much time. Next year registration will be in a 24 hour period and I am sure everyone waits until the last minute will find it satisfying, as it will be the only way to register.
Now for the rules:
If you missed the deadline you can race as follows:
Show up before 8:30 (not 8:31)
Bring a waiver (best to bring one with you) and your payment
You will be penciled in at the end of the last rider
You will not be eligible for medals
I realize it is a long wait, but we cannot spare anyone to sit at the table all morning and the list needs to be gven to the officials before the event starts.
You are not eligible for medals becuase weather conditions can change and it is not fair to those who race at their proper time beciase they registered on time.
Not perfect , but better than nothing.
Also, the list was curt of by my poorly designed comcast e-mail system, so it will be sent in its entirely from someone who has a better e-mail provider.
