perhaps more security would mean fewer doggie problems, too. Worth a few

bucks right there, IMO.

This is such a fun series that I for one would be willing to shell out a few

extra $$ for a permit fund ... I know that we are not all one the same

financial footing, so I think not raising entry fees and having an ancillary

pool (not water works pun intended) would work.

My opinion is up for debate.

To OBRA Land,

I just recieved an email from a coworker who has a

friend who works for Commissioner Jim Francesconi.

This is a direct quote from his email to me:

"Just spoke with a friend who works for Francesconi.

According to him the Parks bureau has no problem

issuing the permit for the Wed. night series. He also

talked with Terry Hopkins at the Water bureau who said

the Water bureau is willing to issue the permit, but

wants $300 per race for extra security. The Water

bureau also owns land on Mt. Tabor.

It appears that first talking with Water bureau staff

and if that doesn't work talking directly with Sten's

office is the best course of action. Sten is up for

reelection."

Who ever's working to secure the permit can use this

information as they see fit. I'd hate to see the

series go!

Bingo. That was the requirement for us after two weeks of negotiation. If

you handle the park Bureau carefully, you might pull it off.
