Hi folks. I wanted to let all of you know that this weeks race will continue
as scheduled, a "Snowball" points race. The first lap winner receives one
point. Second lap winner receives two points. Third lap winner receives
three points. Etc. Obviously winning laps at the end of the race will be
worth the most points. I will not be pulling riders, so everyone will get to
race the entire duration of their race.
Women/Juniors - 25 minutes - 5:50pm
Cat 3/4/5 - 35 minutes - 6:20pm
Cat 1/2 - 40 minutes - 7:00pm
I know that the points races haven't been as popular as the standard format,
but its a long crit season and a bit of variety is good for racers and the
promoter. The only downfall of the "Snowball" format is the racing begins
immediately, so you might have to try harder a bit earlier in the race than
normal. If you are not a fan of this style of racing, August 12th will be
the standard crit format as well as the series finale.
That's it for now.
