I always wondered how I could put on an all day "get the whole family involved" omnium where finish points also include the cheering level the pack gets when crossing the finish, but so far nothing has worked out (though I came up with a great name). However this year you can make both mom and dad happy and bring the family together, twice....
Because the other half of the Lake Oswego Mother's Day Criterium is .....
The Father's Day Larch Mountain Hillclimb Time Trial (Sunday June 16th)
Race details and flier will be coming soon. Because this is a point to point time trial we are still reviewing the best way to involve the family. At the very least we hope that Larch Mountain being so close to Portland and of time trial duration, will allow family members to attend and take part in a day of racing.
Getting the children (and I believe the whole family) involved at races (besides Mother's and Father's Day) is indeed a challenge that would be great to see developed more. Any thoughts or suggestions anyone has with regards to both OBRA races and Larch Mtn would be greatly appreciated and given due consideration.

The Lake Oswego Mother's Day Criterium (in downtown
L.O.--8 miles from Portland) will have BOTH a
children's and a mother's race!
Mark it on your calendar...Sunday May 12, 2002 is the
Lake Oswego Mother's Day Criterium.
4 turns, 1 kilometer, pavers, a challenging downtown
course, and an excellent prize list provided by
Lakeside Bicycles, Torani, Clif Bar, and Vittoria
should make for an awesome first crit of the season.
