Would love to hear a race report of Salem STXC

Will / All interested,
The course is not as long as PIR, but the fact that most of it is using the
BMX track area means you need to pay attention to your riding speed and
technique. It was not easy... a challenge. The venue is I think on the
South side of the Fairgrounds next to sand volleyball, skateboard, open
field area. It was sunny, hot, with some very tight corners and some neat
loose surfaces to keep one honest. I felt pretty good for the first half of
my race then had to back off some because of heat. Probably the most
important thing I could say is it was fun, even though it was tough. Good
course. Not sure what course designers plans are for next week, but the
area offers some good options they could use. Considering the fact this was
their first time doing this, they were well organized. They had snacks and
fluids on sight. Non racers? Bring the volleyball or drop in on a match
taking place... or haul your skateboard down. Of course on the last race of
series, the State Fair will be taking place.... I have never gone to the
State Fair.... Looks like 2009 is another first for me.
Will Cortez...........COME ON DOWN!

what was the venue like? things for non-racers to do? etc

I'm hoping to make it to next week's race and would love some info on how it all went down for it's first race.
