Hello

Last Chance to sign up for the High Cascades 100 on July 23rd. 5 Spaces
remain and if you are so inclined you may want to do so this weekend.
www.highcascades100.com

If you are in for not a 100 miles this year may I suggest my 50 miles of up
and down in the Test Of Endurance 50. Registration is going well for that
race as well and with a 350 person field limit it may fill by early June.

Also, I am putting the final touches on making the Peak Sports Mudslinger
4/23 a qualifier for MTB Nationals in Sun Valley. More to come on this as I
want to get you on the podium at Nationals.

One last thing that I did not include in the Rivercity Oregon Xc Series. We
will be having a Post race awards and fun time at the 6 hrs of Mt Hood
hosted by Kris Schamp of Portland Racing and Sellwood Cycles on July 3rd.
Kris has granted all series champions 10.00 off of entry and we will be
handing out Series awards prior to the event.

Now all we need is Sunshine or 50 degree weather again.

See you in Echo

Hello,

Special Props out to Oregon Riders who Dominated the HC 100...see the
results and race report and interview at mudslinger events

John Weathers...Sunset Cycles 10:04
Rich Cramer bicycleattorney.com 10:10
Both won there cats, along with many other strong Oregon results

87 Started and 70% Finished... Riders from all over the west and beyond
suffered and triumphed for a great day in the saddle

I think I am actually acclimated after riding 150 miles at 6000 ft for 10
days.....maybe even fast..for me

- Thanks to Don Leet for all the encouragement.....
- Thanks Ben Thompson for scouting/sweeping and letting me invade your
life
- Thanks Dave Baker......100.3 miles.......you nailed it on your
estimates and all of our riding around

Very minor injuries, great food from Baldy's BBQ of Bend and super support
from Sagebrush Cycles, Hutch's Of Bend and Barb and Muffy and others from
Sunnyside Sports.......Great job in helping to raise 3500.00 for COTA and
get this Epic rocking.

Also....Monday they found the lost Horses...Alive

Mike Ripley, his family, a legion of volunteers & sponsors (including Chris King & United Bicycle Institute) and the 87 riders put on an incredible (and incredibly challenging) 1st annual HC 100.

As Don said in his post, but for a couple of course markings that were vandalized at the last minute the race went off without a hitch -- great aid stations, killer BBQ & beer at the finish and a raffle with some great schwag. Not to mention the 70 miles of singletrack ...

Oregon now has two 100 mile mtb races that sport some of the best singletrack to be found anywhere. Lucky us.

Mike Ripley once again showed he is one of the premier race promoters
in Oregon with the HIgh Cascades 100. For a first year event it was
done almost without flaw. A few ribbons were removed that caused some
of the riders to go off course. This is hard to prevent in a 100 mile
race with 80% single track (though Mike is already working on it).
Course was hard but attainable, there was 80% single track, great aid,
good barbeque at then end a fast results. Way to go.
