FYI...New group ride in Central Oregon...Direct questions to Glen

Central Oregon Velo Group Rides

This is to invite you to participate in group road bicycle rides with
Central Oregon Velo (COV). We will leave from the Bellatazza Coffee shop in
Tumalo every Sunday morning at 9:30 am.
The goal of Central Oregon Velo (COV) is to provide an opportunity for group
bike rides for all skill levels. The club is now taking shape, and if you
are interested in helping shape it, we encourage you to join us in its
planning and design. Many of us have lived in communities with clubs of
this nature, and we want to borrow all the good ideas you may have from
those other clubs.
If you've never been on a group ride before and are perhaps a little unsure
of what to expect, don't be put off. There are group rides in our area that
don't suit everybody, and we recognize that. Not everyone wants to race -
some of us are happy to live vicariously through the likes of Lance
Armstrong. Others could care less about picking up the pace much past 15
mph, never mind chasing a leader's jersey.

That's where Central Oregon Velo fills the gap in what our region has to
offer for some of the country's best road cycling. But we can't even scratch
the surface without a commitment from you to show up whenever your schedule
permits. Bend, Sisters, Redmond, Prineville, Madras - it doesn't matter
where in central Oregon you live; come out and get involved!

If you race for a local team, use our club rides as steady recovery. If you
want to get fitter, see them as a challenge. And if all you need is an
injection of fun and conversation on a weekly ride, come along and know
there are people looking for the same. It's envisaged that there will be
two, three, maybe even four different levels that are determined by a tempo
and distance according to the average ability of each group. You won't be
judged by anyone but yourself (how refreshing is that!), and you get to pick
which level suits your present needs. Best of all, you can move between
groups at any time - there's no contract or expectation to tie you to one
spot. And if there isn't a level that perfectly suits you...start one that
does!

Show up with your bike, have fun and meet friends old and new.

See you on Sunday! Any questions, please call:
