yes, Children should have helmets, they are too young to make the decision
for themselves, likely to crash, and have fragile skulls and developing
brains.
Adults out for a cruise, slow speed, are about as likely to crash, as
stumble while walking and cracking the melon. And even then to have that
crash result in a head strike is un-likely.
Oh yes there are exceptions to everything and we can spout on about why take
a chance put on a helmet, etc, etc. but I can't remember if I have ever
crashed by myself just out cruising or commuting to work, or etc. Now i
usually wear a helmet, and of course always if required. I actually think i
have hit my head more from a stumble...
BUT IT IS NOT THE LAW.
Look, why not be happy that people are getting out of their cars and out
riding a bicycle? Why can't we leave it at that? Why be an ass and make
life unpleasant for others.
