the gentle lovers would like to express a gracious thanks to all who were

involved and attended our first bike race together by serenading them with a

ballad of hardship, bonds of love, and fortuitousness from the rooftops of

the northwest. much easier and no less sincere to send a group email, right?

despite a few mishaps in the morning inlcuding the carcass of a massive

woods rabbit, one very edgy dog (and one very good sport), and a couple rock

bed obstacle courses we threw in (intentionally, of course, for the upcoming

'cross season), after we got details straightened out the race came along

quite smoothly. with $300 in fab prizes donated from peak sports in

corvallis, product from sellwood cycle repair, sweets from beth, and a solid

turnout in every category, we were able to give out over $850 in cash and

prizes. we learned a ton, and have many plans for next year involving food

and further integration of our proud sponsors. without the help of OBRA, the

Victor Point School, and our many dedicated volenteers, we could'nt have

organized a sack race. so, a very gentle thank you, from the gentle lovers.
