There has been a request that we modify the categories for the Oregon JCS.
We had three age categories, but are now moving to four. That is eight
categories all together (Boys & Girls). It doesn't change much. Same great
Schwag. Same great grand prizes. Now more winners!
The four categories line up better with the State Championships, and
Nationals. Key flyer changes are noted below. The flyer on the OBRA web page
will be updated shortly. Hope to see you this Sunday at the first JCS Race.
Tell your friends - get those kids out there! First 50 kids to sign up get a
SWEET Planet Bike Spok Helmet light (Retail $ 14). A great gift from
Sellwood Cycle Repair / Team S&M!

Best 5 out of 7 races. Must participate in 4 or more races for series
awards/grand prize awards.
We have 4 grand prizes for the series. TBD Kona Cross frame/fork (perhaps
complete bikes)
http://www.konaworld.com/bike.cfm?content=jake , a complete Redline 24"
Conquest Cross Bike
http://www.redlinebicycles.com/adultbikes/conquest-24-09.html , and a
Redline Conquest frame/fork
http://www.redlinebicycles.com/adultbikes/conquest-frame.html . Which four
kids will walk away with these awesome prizes?
Two grand prizes for the Girls, and two for the Boys. The grand prizes will
be awarded on a lottery system. One lottery ticket per race entered. 15
additional lottery tickets if you win the series, 14 more if second, and so
on. The grand prize lottery will be on the Nov 29th race. You do not need to
be present to win but must participate in at least 4 races to qualify.
We have great awards, medals, and cool swag 8 deep in each of the eight
categories. Series awards will be based on a finish position only. We will
use a flatter series points system than traditional OBRA scoring. This
encourages participation and will keep things tight in the series (1st thru
15th - 30, 28, 26, 24, 22, 20, 18, 17, 16, 15, 14, 13, 12, 11, 10).
The objective is that everyone who participates has a chance, but those who
do well, and attend more races, have a better chance! All awards will be
distributed at the final event Race #7 on November 29th. Only Medals and
Grand Prize awards will be mailed out. Merchandise awards will be
distributed until it is all gone on November 29th.
