Ksyrium Elites and Tubeless Question

A couple people asked to know what the people said about my question as to whether rim strips were necessary on a Ksyrium rim.  So here is what I have been told by those that emailed me.

Those who said no rim strip necessary: 3
Those who said need rim strip to prevent burping and were currently riding wheels done this way: 3
Those who thought that it might be a good idea but weren't sure because they had no practical experience: 2

Many referenced the guys at Cyclepath who recommend the rim strips to prevent the burping on Non-Stans brand rims.

Those who said that didn't need a rim strip all had had success with out it, it wasn't a theoretical knowledge.  One fellow is about my same weight so that bodes well.

Those how said it needed a rim strip for the most part seemed to rely on Cyclepath except for one fellow who had a bad experience without it.

So what am I going to do?  Go the riskier route of course since I don't have any rim strips laying around.

If I have catastrophic event or it otherwise seems to burp too much, I will let you all know.

I am going to run Krysium Elite wheels with Hutchinson Bulldogs tires tubeless.  Do I need rimstrips?  I have the UST Valves and the Stans goop.  Not sure why I need rim strips since there are no spoke holes on the rim.  One guy I know said I need them.  Another guy said no.

Thoughts?  Thanks.

I have no direct with tubeless for CX, but I have read about this
because I'm interested in trying it (with my Ksyrium SSC SLs).

My understanding is that yes - you need rim strips. For road
tubeless, the high pressures ensure the tire stays seated on the rim.
But for CX tubeless, the pressure is low enough that sideways
pressures (rocks, sticks, hard turns, ...) can push the tire inward
away from the inflexible metal rim creating the dreaded "burp". By
using a rubber rim strip, a seal is fomed between the rim strip and
tire. When rocks, sticks, hard turns push the tire inward, the
flexible rubber rim strip moves with the tire and (hopefully) no air
burps.

At least, that's my understanding. I'd be curious to hear from people
with real experience.
