This fall the BTA is teaching its nationally recognized Bike Safety
Education program to 4th and 5th graders in 18 Portland area schools.
On the last day of each school's session the instructors take the kids
out for a Community Ride around the school to practice on real streets
what they have been learning back on the playground.
We need volunteers to go along on the rides to help keep the kids
safe. No training required, just your bike, your helmet and your
enthusiasm.
The entire schedule is at bta4bikes.org under GET INVOLVED/Calendar.
This Friday the 25th we need 14 volunteers and we only have two signed
up so far.
Community Rides are fun and you get to help the next generation of
cyclists learn to be safe and have fun on bikes.
