Looking for a Clydesdale proof saddle.

I'm going to echo the WTB Silverado...I've had excellent luck with that
seat and it's pretty light at 190g. At 190 - 195 lbs., I may be on the
lighter side of clydesdale, but this seat is comfy. I also have a WTB Devo
on my rigid singlespeed, which is a bit wider than the Silverado, but super
comfy!

I weigh in at 270 and push the limit on my stuff. I've worn through
frames, posts (lots of seat posts), seat post collars, stems, wheels,
and of course, saddles.

I currently ride an Arione with no problems, but have had great luck
with Turbomatic, Rolls, and many WTB saddles. My only warning about
the Arione, as I've heard others say as well, is that the back is
slightly pointed and can snag tights on CX mounts.

Spencer,

Well ... at 6'3" and 250 lbs - I am over qualified for "clydesdale".
I've been racing my MTB on my WTB Speed Pro Gel saddle with Chromoly
rails for several years now. I do some light jumping, lots of bunny
hoping, and some pounding downhills on it. It holds up like a dream.

I'd avoid anything designed to be weight conscious, and go for the good
old chomoly rail seats. I broke several light weight racing specific
seats before giving up on them...

i don't quite qualify as a clydesdale yet but my teammates tell me i carry some heft, especially around my gluteus maximus area so... i'm partial to my wtb saddle. it's been working fine for me for the past two seasons. it's the silverado team.

good luck.

So I bent the crap out of my brand new saddle this weekend with my
Clydesdale awesomeness and now I need to find a new one that can hold up to
my 200.8 lbs of dynamic mass. Before I kick out a C note on a new one, I
want to pole the peanut gallery and get opinions.

Cheers and thanks,

Spencer
