Battle at Barlow this Sunday!

Pre-Registration - $20.00 (Juniors U-18 $5)
Fee after first race is $10/race
Option 1: Send check and registration form to: Charlie Warner ? 5926 NE 16th Ave ? Portland, OR 97211
Option 2: Register at Veloce Bicycles ? 3202 SE Hawthorne ? Portland, OR 97214 www.velocebicycles.com.
Pre-registration at Veloce ends at 4:00 pm Saturday.

Day of Race Registration - $25.00 (Juniors U-18 $5)
Fee after first race is $10/race
Day-of registration opens at 7:30am, closing 15 minutes before each race.

NOTE: We are allowing a chip timing company to test their system on the 11:50am and 1:55pm races. If you are racing in either of the those time slots, you will need to get a timing chip AFTER you register.

Weather
The weather will be gorgeous with temperatures in the Mid-70s and not a cloud in the sky!!

Course
Battle at Barlow is held at Sam Barlow High School. This classic, popular former Cross Crusade course is best known for its challenging, railroad tie stepped run-up and long off- camber section. Two gradual climbs per lap will add to the burn, but overall the course could be described as euro-style: fast, with ample room to pass.

The course will change slightly this year after the run-up due to major ruts which have been created over the past year, but the changes are not major. Part of the course will still have small remnants of shallower ruts, but we will do out best to flatten the course for Sunday. Other than that, the stairs on the run up are in good condition and the blackberry bushes have been trimmed back.

Schedule
8:30am: Juniors 10-15 (25 min)
9:00am: Beginners and Unicycles (45 min)
9:50am: C men and Clydesdales (45 min)
10:45am: Masters C men (45 min)
11:50am: Masters B, Junior, 50+ men (45 min)
1:00pm: B men and Single Speed (45 min)
1:55pm: Women B, Beginner, junior, master A, master B, master 45+ (45 min)
2:50pm: Men A, Masters A, Women A (60 min)

Food
Madison's Grill and CycloSportif (the waffle guy) will be providing food throughout the day

Well! It sure looks like MUD will not have any impact on number reading by
officials or interfere with the chip equipment. Barlow is tough dry, wet,
chips or not.

Hey there,
I am looking for a road handlebar in a size 40cm (CC) with a clamp diameter of
31.8. I would prefer something with an ergo bend if possible. Used or new is
fine.

Trying this out for the first time this year and I'm hoping to find a complete 54cm or medium complete cyclocross bike. If you have one too many in the stable or know of someone looking to move one, please do contact.

I weigh in at 270 and push the limit on my stuff. I've worn through
frames, posts (lots of seat posts), seat post collars, stems, wheels,
and of course, saddles.

I currently ride an Arione with no problems, but have had great luck
with Turbomatic, Rolls, and many WTB saddles. My only warning about
the Arione, as I've heard others say as well, is that the back is
slightly pointed and can snag tights on CX mounts.

The bike was purchased in May, I began riding it in August and have put ~
500 miles on the bike, new tires <40 miles ago.

This model has a better rear derailleur than the 2010 2.3, and is perfect
both for a winter/rain bike and just for riding in general.

I'm going to echo the WTB Silverado...I've had excellent luck with that
seat and it's pretty light at 190g. At 190 - 195 lbs., I may be on the
lighter side of clydesdale, but this seat is comfy. I also have a WTB Devo
on my rigid singlespeed, which is a bit wider than the Silverado, but super
comfy!

It is almost here! Should be a blast.
Remember that you will pick up a new number to use for this series only,
leave time in your plans to pick this number up.
While we are going to score the race, the plan by the officials is not to
post results until daylight. I am actually very nervous that we will be
able to get everyone scored in the dark. Please be patient with us.

Hi there... I was stupid enough to lock my new bike up with a cable
lock on my first day of school. Bike is a women's Specialized Vita, the
color is a red/burgundy. There is a rack and side basket on the
back--both black. There are also the straps/clips used to hold lights
on the handlebar and seat post.
The serial number on the bike is P8EI90081.

The bike was stolen just outside the Student Union building at PSU.
Bike was locked to a single rack on the corner of Broadway &
Montgomery. Taken sometime between 4:30-9:30 on Monday, 9/21/09. I'm
offering a $200 reward for it's return.
