Barlow timing chip data

Dave and all,

Winning Time Active (Seattle but based in Italy) has been supplying timing systems for running, tri and cycling events for years. The Utah cycling association has adopted a mandatory chip timing policy using WTActive, and I was curious to see it in action.

The cost is an issue (tags are $45/ea) for riders. The system worked as advertized counting laps, providing lap times, splits to the leaders on each lap, etc.

Official results will be provided by OBRA, but I will have the files available for folks to check out. If you want to see the data, e-mail me directly.

WTActive should be sending me the files today. I will forward them onto OBRA so they can compare to their Finish Lynx line-scan camera.

There are far more bells and whistles to these systems (finish line-triggered e-mails to each racer with results, etc), but for now we just wanted to see the basics.

Thanks to those riders where had to wear the tags. I relayed comments from the women about the tags being loose as I was collecting them.

Regards,

Jim Fischer

Subject: [OBRA Chat] Barlow timing chip data

Is there any chance that the ankle chip Guinea pigs get to see the data?
I know it's not an OBRA thing. Just curious.
